It was developed by Lester Cox, who has lived out in the eastern district of Victoria in Bairnsdale, where he was a Remedial Massage Therapist and Naturopath for close to 40 years.

Over that time, he built a very successful practice in the area due to having worked extensively with local footy teams and treating the farming and general community for all kinds of ailments and has many thousands of people who would swear by his techniques.

Lester is now retired however he managed to pass on his wisdom to a few who continue on his legacy today.

Muscular Corrective Therapy is essential for treating any and all common musculoskeletal pain. Whether your complaint is chronic low back pain or acute neck pain, this type of treatment should be part of all foundational treatment and I believe it to be the missing link, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all other physical therapies.

Although Muscular Corrective Therapy can and is often used as a stand-alone treatment, it is best combined with a full range of remedial techniques such as muscle energy techniques, trigger point, myofascial release and so on, as they are all specialized methods that can work together to achieve consistent outcomes for clients within their bodywork sessions.

At Fairfield Massage Therapy and Bodywork, Paul Jenkin has had extensive training and experience over the past 11 years applying Lester Cox’s Muscular Corrective techniques.

An initial session typically runs for 60 minutes, applying a wide range of Muscular Corrective adjustments realigning the entire body’s musculoskeletal system to start regaining optimal structural integrity within your body.

It is recommended that you have a few regular sessions early on in your treatment program combined with other specialized remedial bodywork techniques within each session to establish a good foundation to build upon, particularly when correcting serious chronic conditions.

After a sequence of Muscular Corrective Therapy treatments, muscles are realigned and restored to their full length, reducing or eliminating pain and increasing mobility. Muscles begin to tone again and improved blood flow and circulation occurs.

Ongoing maintenance with Muscular Corrective Therapy sessions 4-6 times per year is recommended as well as a wholistic approach to wellbeing to truly bring your body back into a state of balance and freedom.
